Sunday, September 21, 2008 heh. i always thought mine was physical touch and quality time but somehow recently i think words of affirmation comes into the picture too. somehow i realised how much i need to be affirmed in alot of areas of my life and certain friendships that i've made. a simple "thanks for doing this for me" can really make whatever i'm doing for u worthwhile. as for quality time, i really love having conversations with a small group of people, just sharing and fellowshipping. that's part of the reason y i don't usually enjoy massive stayovers or even if i do go for stayovers, i'll have a good chat with a small group only or choose to emo at one corner doing my own stuff. studies then, can be a good excuse to exclude myself from activities. physical touch, err i dun really know how to explain, its not what james did to minghui today. like giving her a soft punch which doesn't look that soft, or that just keep on poking her and say something like "do u feel love, mh?" kinda stuff. ah well, my church friends know best on that i guess, since most of us are structured that way. gifts, something that i dun mind receiving but i won't feel exceptionally loved by you no matter what the gift is. however, i will feel abit the zzz if my close friends give me something that is cheapskate. cheapskate can be either lack of sincerity or really cheap or both. perhaps i sounded abit too shallow but let me quote a random example. gatsby and loreal are both my close friends and they decided to get me a wallet that costs $14, that's like 7 per person. as a close friend, i think i deserve more than that right? perhaps i'm like surrounded with friends who are more up, ever since sec sch, my closest clique always spend like $30 per person kinda thing so that kinda form my cognitive map. acts of service, again, something that won't affect me much. i will be appreciative, but not love. give me a massage, teach me stuff volunteerily, all these kind gestures will build an image that u are a nice person, but i won't feel loved. so err there u go, an update of my love language. primarily, physical touch still dominates the rest. haha. for those who find this sermon abit random, let me clarify that the main reason y i talked about love languages again was because that was part of my sermon in church today. adious Jesus is Love |
