dave has finally agree to let my cg have an outreach cum stayover at east coast park this sunday. it comes with a condition though, that is to have at least one non believer to join us, if not it would just be another excuse to go out together. i seriously hope that people from my cg will not invite friends so that the outing can be made possible, but rather make use of this opportunity to ask friends that have parents that disallow them to go church or activities organize by the church. by having this outreach by the cell group, it is considered as an outside activity so as to speak. :P

i have yet to plan the activities this sunday. no idea what to do but i believe God has a plan and He will fill me with ideas later when i do my Quiet time. its good to follow someone rather than taking the lead all the time. Being a spiritual leader can be tiring but with God's backing, serving Him becomes a heap of fun. people who are tired of serving, find back the joy to serve, think of the reason to and enjoy being part of His perfect plan!

i am finally baptised. its really cool to have like baptism on the same day as the remaining mobbers'04 as well as having it on edwin's birthday. it'll be so much easier to remember. hah

my friends who came down to witness my baptism, i just wanna say that im really touched. it was quite last minute but u bothered to take the time off. thanks big time!!

the baptism water was not that cold actually. in fact, it felt abit warm. the moment when u stepped out of the sanctuary, that's when u will start to like feel the chill. amongst the shivering, there was this immense joy that filled us up. i wanted to like shake everyone's hand and jump around. i felt so FRREEEE!! and im not exaggerating. firstly, it took me like 3 years before God allowed me to go for it. 3 years of praying and waiting for God's reply. looking at how God making use of unexpected scenarios to fulfill His purposes in my live is totally astounding.

throughout this 3 years, i constantly had friends to comfort and encourage me when i'm feeling down having people around me to just hang out and have fun and best of all, having God with me in all circumstances. baptism to me is like a turning point. going through NS and afterwhich, university. i am still deciding on whether to stay or to go overseas. there's alot of pros and cons but i obviously favour local U because of my family and friends.

going overseas will enable me to skip 2 years of studying. it sounds really good but if u think about it, y do i bother rushing through my studies just to get out to work. studying is obviously better. but then again, a part of me wants to get out into a whole new world, facing new challenges and trying to see how far i can go in terms of my career.... getting in chem eng fac, be a chem engineer, set up my own business, find a virtuous wife, have children or perhaps i think too far? well, as far as im concern now, i belong to God and i just pray that He will continue to lead me.

btw, i forgot to ask dave bout the cg outing this coming sunday. im sorry people. i might call him like tomorrow afternoon. my cg is like so onz when come to camping at east coast park. i am seriously like hoping dave will permit us to stayover if not its going to be like quite disappointing. still remember out first outing. it was so cool. everyone in the cg turned up. attendance 100%!! things will be slightly diff now but i hope that everyone will at least bother to try. dunno when's the prelims or whatsoever tests. it might not be a very good idea to have it like just after camp but we can't afford to drag any longer. sec4 is like an extremely important year. oh one last thing, gloria came up with a cg t shirt design. i think it looks quite cool. might want to check it out. we can discuss it like next week during cg time. heh.

didn't manage to get up in time for dawn touch. daniel and eliel went though. woke up when daniel pressed the door bell repeatedly because he forgot to bring something out after locking himself out. i obviously didn't respond to it and left chris with the honour of opening the door.

was just in time for breakfast. the food there was like pretty okie for a breakfast. the egg was kinda tasteless. but the texture is nice. sermon after breakfast was about loving god when there's pain. it didn't speak to me at all. i had a big problem trying to concentrate, partly beacuse i felt sleepy.

team building game after that rocks. we won everything but one, in which we drew with another team.

first station, we were at the jacuzzi pool, searching for stuffs that was like in the pool. two members had to go in to retrieve the items, blindfolded. getting wet at the first station was superb. the weather was darn hot. anyhow, after completing like 4-5 tasks, we were suppose to use our feet to grab 5 cents coins. this is like an impossible task already but to increase the difficulty level, there's 1 cent and 10 cent coins too. Mai lame la!!

second station was something like lao ying zhua xiao ji. i was the head and pong the tail. it was the best game but most dangerous too. got scratches all over my back.

lazy to update the rest of the games alr. bottom line is that we got First price. yeah!! got like 3 bags goodies which we failed to finish. most people went straight into the pool after the announcements. water polo rocks!!

hmm. to cut the long story short, thats basically what happened for day 3 as well. apart from aloha night.

the food wasn't up to expectations. i felt quite left out because the mob guys were like integrated into the guys gang and ya. it was stupid la. i would have prefered to join them instead of dancing on stage. heh. just a thought. all the activities went well quite smoothly and im glad.

the last night, i was finally able to have a decent chat with the mob guys. after daniel and eliel slept, continued to chat with chris till finally, i entered the trans mode. it was like a whole new experience.

heh. i am dang sian of updating alr. sigh!!

    +++2:29 PM+++

after putting down my luggage, went to sh*t. the war ended like in less than 2 mins but the effect was great. chris opened up the balcony door and close the toilet door. we tried spraying the adidas deodorant but the aroma never leaves, thus, we left the place.

at the conference room, we had to sit according to our discussion groups. ivan was in charge of another group and thus we were separated. becks & daniel were in my group. i felt quite awkward. anyhow, we had ice breaker games but the explanation was too draggy. i didn't bother to listen. in fact, i ate up most of the sweets given to me but kept the wrappers. so when people came up to me and try to trick me, i gave them my wrappers. smart eh!

dinner after that was fantasic. partly because i was super hungry. i didn't wait for the mob guys because they didn't go swimming. i totally left them out for the whole day which i felt really bad. they were waiting for me in the room while i was like busy enjoying myself.

sermon that day was about forgiveness. i was just amazed at how much grace we have from God. no matter what mistake we made earlier on, God forgives - once saved, always save.

when the programs were over, we had mass dance practise. i felt qutie stressed because everyone was like expecting me to know how to dance eventhough it was also the first time for me. having amiel around definitely brought laughter and joy. but then again, it was quite hard on grace. she was like trying her best to teach us but we were constantly like getting distracted by that fat ball. shucks man. should have video taped it when he was dancing. nvm, at least i got some nice pics which is equally entertaining.

went back to room right after dance. chat with the mob guys until 12 am before going up to jem's room. james was there too and amiel wasn't very welcoming. at first we were only like playing cards. kept winning until i got quite sick so i started whacking people with pillow, in other words, pillow fight. stayed there for 2 hrs before going back to my room to slp.

    +++2:07 PM+++

been pretty occupied with some game that i took up recently, and thus the late update. this year's camp was incredibly fun but i don't think i grew much spiritually. got to know more people better but at the same time, stranded from certain people.

auntie sue called me in the morning to offer me a ride to harbourfront mrt station. had breakfast at macs with other yfers. eliel's family was there too. anyhow, aunt sharon thanked me for remembering her son's birthday. i felt quite weird when she thanked me. it was like btw eliel's my friend and friends celebrate birthdays for one another kinda thing. oh well, at least she's nicer to me now.

when i got to the ferry terminal, just before i checked in, i desperately wanted to sh*t but didn't cuz i scared i'll get left behind. tsura offered to go with me, but we decided to go onto the ferry to shit. too bad the feeling was gone when i got on the ferry. the ride to batam was normal, meaning that nothing exceptionally happened. the bus ride however, was quite fun and at the same time tiring. helped uncle ben pong to be the last man which includes doing head count when everyone got on the bus. after we settled down, both jem and i got so bored that we decided to slap one another. i wasn't bullying him, we were on equal terms. i sprained my left wrist so i couldn't exert so much force on that hand. jem ain't exactly a man of peace. whenever we declare peace, he will break it. cunning!

our tour guide, can't remember her name, was pretty amusing. she constantly laughed at her own jokes. anyhow, she's another cunning girl. told us that she only got paid like S$120 a month and that its not enough. that's y she has to go on a loan and borrow from another guy to pay the guy she borrowed from. that makes her forever on a loan. upon saying all that, she treated us kueh lapis but later we found out that she's actually advertising it. -_-"

we got down like every 10 mins or so for shopping but there was nothing to buy. the seafood lunch there was quite nice but the dishes came out before we even finish like the food on the table. we practically rushed through everything and at the end of the day. i forgot wad i ate. and yes, the cuttlefish there was humongous. i wanted to poke it with the twigs on the floor but there were alot of kids there so ya. jsut outside the toilet, there was a pond with fishes that has a luminous tip. its streamlined and u can't see the fins at all. when justin saw it he was like "oh look, prawns!!" -___________-"

by the end of the third stop, i dun feel like shopping anymore. the shops sell things like dried cuttlefish, ugly polo Ts. shirts that cost more than S$50. what the hey!! thankfully, there is still justice. our second last stop was at a 3 storey shopping centre which offer decent stuffs to buy. couldn't find the mob guys or the booos gang so i went with jem tsura and justin to shop for clothes. got two shirts and 3 dvds. the quality not bad.

last stop was harris resort. the swimming pool is really big, almost half the size as the entire resort. my room was BIG with 3 beds (1 sofa bed, 1 single and 1 king size).

heh. this coming camp gonna rock man! i feel it in my fingers, i feel it in my toes... lalala. will be shopping with jem tsura and justin to be the bus uniform and some other nice stuff. will be getting it for bryan too. dunno bout amiel tho. the bus fellowship got separated.. oh no!! anyhow, it feels good to be the gang leader. can bully!!

the first night, lets go around bashing people. i have decided not to prank call. it is not as fun as jumping onto each other and pillow fights in the room. oh btw jem, don't think u all should come over to my room. i will go over la. think chris and dan want to study. eliel and elisha can join us in ur room. heh. our new recruits, maybe??

i wanted to play gameboy on the way to the shopping centers at batam but according to jem, it takes like 3 mins to get there. shucks! it won't be wise playing at night cuz there's better things to do. oh well, might borrow it from justin after the trip. cheap thrill.

been working for almost a month already and i haven even gotten a single pay cheque. stupid bosses. whats wrong with them la. kept on delaying. im like gonna be broke soon.

haven been training cuz i injure my left wrist. thats the excuse that i used for almost 3 weeks already. i am feeling weak!! tomorrow i will start working out before going swimming at bryan's house. give me a nice tan!!

getting silent treatment is the worse punishment that one can give. it is like absolutely toturous. hey people, not trying to give u all new ideas on how to torture kelvin yea. i trust that my friends are understanding, nice, forgiving, thoughtful and the list goes on. anyhow, please talk to me!!

    1) usually fights will bring friends close together but in some extreme cases, it might have a repulsive effect. it is no longer the ugliness of ones character but rather the 'trust' factor. getting trust from friends might take months or even years but it takes only a few words or actions to spoil all your hard work. well, if one really treasure a friendship, be more sensitive. think before u really say or do anything.

    2) friends are not meant to be substitute. u don't go back to your old friends when there is no one left. that is not the way! first time, forgivable. but subsequently, if u keep doing that, i'm afraid that your words won't mean anything anymore.

    3) one should learn to forgive and forget. even so, that does not means that everything can go back the way it used to be. its the same as the analogy of a broken vase. no matter how well u glued it together, it would never be the same again.

(by the way, this entry is not a continuation of the previous entry. just some random thoughts after reading some comics)

    4) friends are to be treasured. they don't come by often, real friends that is. there should be time that is set apart from them, its the same thing for God. to be close with Him, u have to sacrifice your time. if u have the love for God, then ur sacrifice won't be a sacrifice anymore.

    5) love is simple. things become complicated when u think too much. Y God loves us so much? because he created us? because we are formed in the image of God? there's no need for a reason. He just love. because He first love us, thats y we love him back. that's a reason but if u think about it, the reason ain't really a reason. living in this world is as simple as love is. as long as u follow God and believe that He is in control, nothing is too difficult.

anyhow, just found out that jeremy pong is on bus 3 as well. this is quite cool. now i have like tsura justin cheryl and jem to talk to on the way there. sweett! something's bothering me, wish i could just type out everything here. private blog is not that safe too. gosh!! keith is coming back to Singapore. its been quite long since his name appeared on my blog. hmm, guess that's a good start.

boss asked me to go suntec to work tomorrow. quite sian but i guess its good to earn some more money before going batam. i haven receive a single pay cheque yet and that sucked big time. i shall wait..

church camp is like drawing near. i am not very prepared for it yet. really hoping to gain something from it.

heh, its good to hear something nice from close friends occasionally. it makes u feel special.

    Monday, June 13, 2005

just read someone's blog. it left me speechless. sometimes a simple comment might generate alot of unnecessary misunderstandings. something like 'u look pretty with ur pink shirt on' might be intepreted as 'u look like a bimbo' or something like that. anyhow, words can sometimes be very hurting. that i said alot of times but today i would go one step further.

when we hear something that is negative, the immediate response for most us will be ACTION. without any logical thinking or what so ever, we began to judge. not even considering that facts might be mutated along the way into something that is not that accurate. i fall into this trap very often too. getting influenced by someone when he/she tells me stuff. when it comes to criticism and judgement, it should be done only when it can build people up.

    ephesians 4:29
do not let any unwholesome talk out of your mouth, but rather what is useful to build one's up so that whoever who listens to it may benefit. (something like that, quoting it out of memory. might not be word for word though)

do not let other people's comments make u condemn others. trust in what u see and believe. for that someone, we have been close before. don't u know me at all? am i someone who will gossip about people that i care? do i say things that will hurt people that i love for the sake of saying it? i do admit that i have hurt people with words before but most of the times i did it unknowingly.

anyway, i think out blog shouldn't involve open critism about someone in particular even when we are angry. its nice to spell out everything but u never know who's reading it. in other words, its like adding oil to fire, giving up on the friendship completely.

these few months, i have been working very hard to build up a strong fellowship within the cg. people from there should be able to tell. i hope that everyone will be able to trust me and the things that i do. i treat all of u from normal tm members to my family members. tried to give u the attention and the love. i don't expect anything from u, just hope that u will give ur life to Jesus. i might not be the best example to u but i'm trying to. whatever problems that u have, i want to be there for u. having said all that, if u still think i'm fake. then so be it. there's nothing i can do. i tried my best.

    +++11:08 PM+++

i am finally able to get away from work and enjoy my "holidays". its really weird to step out into the streets of orchard road after a decade. eventhough its a monday, somehow it felt like a weekend where work seemed to be non existent. went to buy present for daniel and cheryl, finally felt the pinch of spending money. its so different when u lived off your parents for the things u want. but then again, it feels good to be able to bless people. alot of people in the world can't even afford to do that.

putting that aside, i'm glad that there's people to go out with even during weekdays. holiday does not necessary means that people are free, especially those in jc or those taking their O levels.

camp is like in 6 days time, quite excited. whoever that is in bus 3 pls sms me ya. quite XD. all the mob guys going diff buses. ivan too. thankfully, there's still justin tsura and cheryl. oh well, gonna see them again in the hotel so not that bad. i can't believe that there's time for shopping. not bad man. hope to find some cheap branded stuff. that will be super cool. bryan jem amiel, wad bus are u on??

ahh. need to go bathe. shall update later if i still have the mood.

    Thursday, June 09, 2005

ah crap. my boss came to visit me today and guess what, he wants me back to work for him even after this roadshow at carrefour. this really sucks. he super cunning man. only collected the receipts for the sales of the month of may. the june one he will collect it only at the end of june. this also implies that i ahve to work till the end of the month. the camp won't be affected though. that's one of my conditions to continue to work for him. i was really tempted to ask for a pay rise but judging from this week's performance, i don't think he will agree to it. oh well.

two days ago, a couple left their child wandering around my booth while they shop around carrefour. after like five minutes, i started to panic la. what sort of parents are they? anyhow, i tried asking the child and the reply was kinda predictable. how can i expect a child to know anything. i held his hands to look for his parents. he refused to walk after taking like five steps. after which, he started to cry. that was extremely embarrassing. it was like a kidnap case. thankfully, the parents came shortly after. -____________-"

    Wednesday, June 08, 2005

tomorrow will be the last day of work. will be having a short break until the end of church camp. i am kinda looking forward to it. but then again, suddenly i have nowhere to go. friends in NS, got to study or grounded. oh well, i guess i will just stay at home to exercise. on the other hand, i just found a new game in my bro's room - Alone in the dark. it sounds pretty exciting. shall try it out soon.

so many people are going overseas for a holiday. eliel won't be joining us on sat for cheryl and daniel's birthday celebration. sigh! the mob guys are like paired up, same thing with cheryl and chia ying. so if "the other half" never turn up for any outing, chances are that his/her buddy will feel left out. am i thinking too much? i think i am. heh

bryan's away, wanted to go his house to play table tennis. alvin park asked me out several times this week (table tennis and something else). i wanted to but i got to work. this is getting irritating. oh and i just read my friend's blog. it got me thinking.

maybe we are born selfish. we want stuff for ourselves but yet at the same time we fail to give. at work, we want to earn more money, but we refuse to work more. this is one such example but the one that i want to share is the attention factor. we expect our friends to give us attention but we refuse to give. this statement really got me. i demand alot from people that i'm close to but yet at the same time, i don't think i can give them back what i want from them.

i love it when people msg me when i'm online. sometimes i delibrately wait for people to do so. this anticipation will either get me excited or disappointed. isn't it easier to msg pple rather than waiting. at least i won't suffer from unecessary 'hurt'. so, to end off, its better to give than receive.

    Jesus is Love
    Monday, June 06, 2005

survived 7 days of working without any day off. i'm currently on my 8th day now. 3 more to go before i get 3 days off. yeah!! work had been boring at carrefour as usual but working at the singapore expo it roadshow is a different thing altogether. having to work with colleagues who are the almost the same age as me was extremely enjoyable. while earning money, we could actually have tons of fun. that is something very rare. yvonne (my primary school tuition mate whom i lost contact with after sec 1) became my colleague. unfortunately, i didn't spent alot of time talking to her. was closer with another girl call christine. she's those typical auntie kinda girl, very comical and adorable. we sort of help each other close deals and at the same time, fighting for customers. there wasn't any like fierce competition but rather a very relax attitude. anyway, spent four days there and after which, it was like goodbye.

parting is something that everyone hates, even if its not for eternity. its part of life, we have to go through it, again and again. parting sometimes also means the end of a friendship. maybe not the end but the relationship will definitely be affected. even with the latest technology available, the fact that when your friend is not there with u, it sucked. we have different ways of expressing love, one of which is touch. right from the start when we enter this earth as babies, we needed someone to carry us or hug us. a baby that is left alone will become somewhat weird in the near future.

church is a place of love. the more love there is, the more physical we get. every sunday, groups of people will take turn to seat at the bench just outside the sanctuary. guys sit on top of one another, we whack each other on the chest. girls on the other hand, gives each other hugs occasionally. that might just be the reason why the guys in church are more united and closer with each other. its just a general statement made by me. correct me if i'm wrong.

anyhow, went to bryan's house for a stayover on sat after drum cum dance practise. it was a different experience. firstly, there wasn't any x box or play station to play. secondly, it wasn't the normal crowd that i stayover with. lastly, we spent most of our time playing card games (bluff and tai di). by the time we reached our destination, it was like 10 already but we decided to go for a swim anyway. the pool was closed and we wanted some thrill. nice!!

the whole swimming thing wasn't what i had in mind. we, or rather they slacked in the pool most of the time while i pulled them around or rather about the pool. i got the treatment of an entertainment ride. it wasn't very tiring nor very fun but weird enough, i enjoyed it. sometime its not the program but the company. i think i said that like countless times already but certain people just don't get it, no? (do i sound like amy?? heh)

we slept at around 5 and woke up at 8am. our alarm clock was set at 7am but we lazed on the bed for almost an hour. late for service and slept during sermons. it wasn't something that i should be proud off but seriously, we were lacked in caffeine.

nothing interesting going on after that. work work work!! boss is coming, and i'm going off.
