hello. this is yet another attempt to revive my blog. its been a really long time now and yes, because of the training schedule by our dear OC, mr partiban sir. well, i do not have any grudges against him but he likes to order lunch for us just before our book out. i don't think he realises that our anticipation level to book out asap reaches the peak on that day itself. instead of fulfilling our wish, he does the opposite. just before every book out, he will definitely repeat his speech, that is aviod getting into trouble and stuff like that. it is as though he's reading from a script given by the higher authority.

from book in till bookout, i spent everyday in teh forest training. u can only see trees and more trees and nothing else but trees. not counting the spiders and the insects and erm, oh ya, i saw a SLUG!! its not that slimy and ya, cute. i was proning beside a tree when it appeared. was indeed fascinated by its crawling speed, so much faster than a snail. i was quite annoyed with spiders who spunned webs all over. that made bashing alot more distasteful. one hand holding rifle and the other, a stick that i found on the floor, just to brush off all the cobwebs. thorns from the trees were also getting in the way when i tried to bash through the thick vegetation. its really hard to not drift from the given direction that i was assigned to go to. oh well, experience taught me to invest in a bonzai cutter. surprisingly, it works better than parang knife, as told from one of my sergeants.

navigating in the forest was only one of the few things that we did. the main program was the fire movement in section level, then the platoon level. both were equally challenging but i enjoy section training more. sergeant azrudin was more relax which made training more enjoyable. in platoon level however, due to the interference from sergeant shaun, there were alot more restrictions. he emphasizes alot on camou which i failed to adhere to terribly. after the 3rd day of training, my face was terrorized by the rising forces of the pimples. it secured every part of my face and by putting on camou, it aggrevated the situation. camou, if not for the acne problem, was an exciting stuff to do. we drew funny designs like green lantern, batman, cat paws on our faces. for me, i had a stitch on my face. not bad eh. that was on the last day before i book out since my face won't get any better within a day, without enough rest. by carrying this mentality, it diverted my attention to having fun from being vain. don't u think so?

after 10 days of being in camp, i felt lost when i book out. so many things to do, yet so little time. i felt like meeting all of my friends but dunno who to go out with first. everyone seemed to be engaged with something and when they are free, i had to be call back to camp for some secret mission. how cool is that.

picture this, u got everything worked out nicely, who to go out with at what time. the day is packed with activities to do and u are obviously estatic because this is the bookout that u long for since 10 days ago. when u were about to execute the finale of it all, u received a call, not from ur friends, but a sergeant. he gave me a timing to report back to camp and told me that i have exactly 4 hrs to do that. the off day that i worked for will be invalid and won't be compensated. when u reach camp, our officer welcomed us by saying this:

this is a very special occasion because we might get to experience something for the very first time. have u ever thought of doing something different? this is it. spending chinese new year with your comrades in the forest. in addition to that, we decided to provide u with green packets to replace reunion dinner. how cool is that!! instead of 'lao yu sheng, we have lalang grass.

that was it, everyone started laughing, but it was a cold laughter. a mixed emotions. the silence was broken when OC briefed us on the background and the objective of our mission. the duration of the mission depend on each individual. once the mission is accomplished, book out will be the next thing on the list.

on the actual mission, everyone was enthusiastic but at the same time, swearing and cursing filled the entire mandai. we needed to find the unknown checkpt and retrieve the missing puzzle to our bookout. i prayed like never before, hoping to get things done by 1pm. god is faithful, we got to bookout by 1.30pm and thus, i was able to meet the mob guys for lunch.

let me elaborate more on god's faithfulness. had some friction with my platoon mates and in each situation, God provided me with the best solution, some of it was like a wake up call for me. y did i care bout what others say about me knowing that i did the right thing? does the praise of man that important? recognitino from others can be very seductive to the point whereby people strayed away from our loving God. he taught me the art of ignoring pests and care only for how God looks at us.

another thing is that initially i was given guard duty on CNY, probably like 27th. i prayed and God answered. some guy replaced me and yes, HE ROCKS! incidents like this happen all the time and i thank God for his deliverance.

im stoning in fromt of the com now, waiting for things to happen. people are gambling and i chose to use the com. bryan and ivan asked me out but i can't go. that sucks. wasting my bookout away in one single place. hopefully tomorrow i can have fun. whee.. adios~~

been slacking alot in camp lately. did alot of research and planning before i decided to just slack through this entire course. hope to get into unit life and get my sergeant rank from there. no more being in school as a trainee. say hello to more book outs and leaves and off and whatever crap. hopefully i get into an 8-5pm unit.. at erm how bout yio chu kang?? 10 mins away from my house. oh man!! already planned when to take leave. if things go on smoothly, i can even go for mob trip to wherever place.

been marked lately by my sergeants, felt that i did alot of stuff for my platoon mates but they just take it that its my job la. super irritating. everynight after training, i will rush to get the key first so that they can go up and rest early. left my webbing at the company line so that i could run faster but no one bother to bring them up for me. when i am late or slightly later then the rest of the people, they will sort of like complain. its like what the heck. y do u think im late? one person have to draw keys, do all the shitty stuff for the sergeants because everyone else went up to bathe already. after awhile, i resigned to my fate and try to pretend nothing happened. things cool when u approach things in a relax manner, sort of like a heck care attitude i guess.

so far things mentioned are quite negative. i think im like exeggerating abit. its not that bad la. still enjoy my time slacking and doing quiet time. and yes, talking bout quiet time, god is really amazing. my friend lent me his discman and i used it for like worship. fantastic surround sound. had an awesome time with Him just singing praises and listening to His voice. do u know that sometimes u sing songs and connect with GOd, u can hear angels singing along with u? i thought i was hearing things but after talking to afew christian friends, i know that im not imagining things. another thing that i want to share is this. the weather had been pretty bad lately. during my live range however, it was sunny all the way until my day shoot was over. in between my day and night shoot, it poured once again but when it was my turn for night shoot, the rain stopped. amazing love!!

went shopping with mella eugene and marcus today. bought 2 new shirts. its nice and i felt great to be able to spend money like that. haha. its been a long time and im sleepyt now. im out!!

computer was down again. wireless connection can't be trusted. haha. just experienced the worse book out ever. sat book out, sunday book in; monday book out, tuesday book in. i could hardly go anywhere except for staying at home. everyone's like busy with something, borring. just realised that one of my friend told me a lie so ya, i dunno how to react, really. somehow i tried to convince myself that i don't care, but how can i not. if u dun want to go out with me, just tell me. dun have to come up with lies to convey the message. alrite wadeva...

christmas is over, movies bout it are still on. just finished watching this korean christmas show. its rather boring but i still finished watching it since there's nothing much i could do at home. don't feel like playing my playstation, dun feel like going out, slacking once again in front of the com.

the theme for last year was about love, perhaps every year's the same but somehow, i got driven into this lovey dovey feeling for quite awhile. from people around me, from dreams especially. been dreaming alot, nice ones. its so real and sometimes i can't really tell whether its a dream or something that i went through before. anyway, been thinking bout the way i behave recently. always tired, lazy to do stuff, slack and stone. in camp, i hardly get the full 7 hrs of sleep. when im outta camp, the sleeping time reduced to 5-6 hrs. im seriously lack of sleep and refusing to do anything about it. perhaps i should really like stay at home more but out of the 7 days, i only have like 1.5 days out. how then can i expect myself to rest at home? in one way or another, i have affected quite a few people, no longer that energetic, not smiling enough and things like that. dunno how long my body can take it.

december had been fun. in fact, the entire holiday had been really eventful and exciting. good friends became close friends but sadly, some close friends became like acquaintences. got alot to do with quality time spent with each other. well, like what mich always say, friends come and go. more and more people are going overseas to study. won't get to see them for a really long time. i dunno what to say, its always like that. quite affected by it but it won't change anything. the weather is not helping. so cold........

the pictures for the previous post are abit screwed up but i am too lazy to edit so ya. 2005 is gone and hello 2006. this is going to be the most boring year ever because most of the time i will be in camp doing something. yesterday's camp at ecp was rather interesting. it took us a really long time to get to the camp site and while we were trying to set up the tents, the string for the six piece rod broke so we had to restring it. took us like 20 mins to get to the 5th rod and when i let go of the string because christina was holding on to it, she unknowingly let go as well. imagine the shock on our faces. as for the rest of the people, they just sat or stood at a corner, amused. for the next 10 mins, it was back to square one, restring and restring. a very tedious process, surprisingly entertaining though.

we set up 2 tents, threw all our belongings in there and used the third tent as our groundsheet while waiting for a group of teenagers to clear the shelter place before we can use it for slacking later. played 7-up or rather, 6-up. people who make mistake will get to do 5 pushups, upon accumulating 20, they have to one short clear the forfeit. this was devised so that i can force myself to train. unfortunately, i ended up owning the game. completed the game after half an hour of going rounds and rounds. eugene was the ultimate loser, can't be helped, one time cockster. next game in line was uno. we needed a no brainer game to relax our brains so that was it. played until the next batch of people reached the camp site, namely amy tsura and marcus' friend. soon after they arrived, the shelter area was cleared. before those guys left the place, they offered kfc and thus we gladly take it. talking bout food, before going to the campsite, we bought dark chocolate mint. abit our of point but it made me really happy, for some unknown reason. that was especially true after i ate it.

i dunno what we did after that but we took a long time to settle down. liz sarah and deb came just before the countdown. we did our own countdown after everyone has finished counting. saw all the ships releasing red flares, which looked like giant red dots in the sky. the dark was illuminated by the red light which somehow reminded me of jesus' blood that cleanses us for 2006. we enter the new year with a clean heart and spirit. hopefully, we will be able to maintain this holiness throughout the year. went to bathe at the chalet nearby. the toilets have heaters. can't believe that costa sands actually input that in their toilets, impressive. shucks, my shift button is spoilt. bleah.

spent the night talking nonsense but dedicated a portion of it on discussing about integrating into jc and all about jc lifestyle. i took a short nap at around 3am and woke up at 4am to welcome nicholas, who came right after his night shift. eating haagen daz at night was something unusual but nevertheless a cool experience. chocolates melting in ur mouth - sensational. haha.

konked out at 5am after some malays decided to be considerate by switching off their radio. i think that was after sarah told them to do so. anyway, there wasn't much of a difference because they talked loudly throughout the night, until 7am before they left us. think they took some alcohol so were feeling high and resulted in that barbaric behavior.

had a wonderful one hr of sleep without disturbance before we had to get up and go to church for 1st service. shan't continue after this cuz ivan's coming. nites
