on wed, which was suppose to be valentine's day, i spent the whole day in camp while others enjoyed their book out at around 3pm. this really sucked big time because most of them went to do shopping or playing lan while i on the other hand managed to get a decent date but couldn't turn up for it cuz of my duty. at least i got half a day off credited in my account so its not that bad after all. while everyone was away, i watched some dvds in the office. it was suppose to be some MVP qing ren kind of show with some cool basketball scenes. half way through the show, i just burst out laughing cuz its so silly. the only thing i could do in camp was to watch some lovey dovey couple on tv dating and knowing that some of my friends were dating their gfs outside. i felt like a complete loser.
the day went pass pretty fast because i had a date with the portable dvd player. our next important event was chinese new year celebration at the cook house. the specialists and officers had to stay back for a steam boat. as usual, i sat with the 30/34 specs. during the lau yu sheng, all the specs from my company gathered and we tried to raise as high as possible. the next thing we knew was that food was flying around. we lifted the yu sheng and threw at each other and thus the food fight. was retardedly fun but yea, clearing up became horrible.
steamboat, as always, had alot of leftovers. in this case, we had prawns and 2 eggs. following our tradition of clearing leftover food, we played the food game. i was dumb enough to suggest having raw eggs as the last 2 matches. the game became pretty tight because of that. thankfully, the 2 lucky winners turned out to be pei ghim and sean tan. as for the rest of us, we got normal, edible food.
then, inevitably, we booked out after some area cleaning. met ben at swensons for a meal along with all the 30/34 specs plus daniel and jem. i ordered apple crumble and topless 5. sticky chewy chocolate was unavailable but nevertheless, that meal was satisfying. we walked around aimlessly before ended up dynasty ktv. got there around 3.30pm and some banga worker offered to let us in to the main hall to wait since it opens at 4pm. we got ushered to a private room at around 4.10pm and was told that they will open the ktv session soon. after half an hour, we became extremely annoyed and bored, so much so that i went out to enquire bout the ktv. unexpectedly, the lady told us that they don't have ktv today, only night club so, we headed home. we didn't realise the place was so dark until we went back down to the outside. overall, i am proud that i succeeded in slacking for the whole day.

we booked out on thursday just for this amazing race thingy organised by our officers and senior sgts. people were reminded that every minute late, we got to pay $1. in the end, no one actually complied to this rule since like most of us were at least 5 mins late, including the organisers.
the start point was ps. our neutral party happened to be my pc, alex. first task, we got to take photos of 5 hotels along orchard, in ascending order. the task must be completed within 45 mins if not we won't be able to finish the rest of the stations. anyway, we didn't really bother to plan until patrick got us a map of singapore at the tourist enquiry thingy just beside heerens. then, we realised that there's actually like more than 5 hotels stationed together at cuppage area so it was like doh~~ thats where importance of planning come into place.
second station was something like the shi zi lu kou, taiwanese variety food game show. alex gave us a photo of brownies chopped up into 4 pieces. then, we are suppose to locate the name of the shop as well as the brownies' alacarte name. we tried asking tcc and ended up with a retarded and rude reply from one of the cashier. he was like, "what the hell is that?" i think the manager should sack him or something. if i were to really buy anything from him, chances are that i will complain. bleah
we gave up not long after and decided to do a forfeit to get more hints. the first forfeit was retarded, standing on a platform singing twinkle twinkle lil stars. alex videoed us and yup, we deleted that video after the game cuz its sick!
anyway, the brownies are from brownies factory at taka basement. we use up our life line at the plce where we got the map. the people there are dang cool. not only did tell search the internet for us, we got the exact address of that shop. so after us, alex called up the others neutral party and told them that every group can only visit there once.
our second and third food items, we got like some mint sweet that starts with e and ends with s and strepsils. then, our final food item was revealed to us, skin. its just skin, without any word before or after. after doing another forfeit, taking a photo at topman, we found out that the skin can be found in paragon, yaki tori, the japanese satay chicken thingy.
we started to slack after the food game cuz its so tiring. our third station was to find the exact location of where the photographs were taken. the only hint we got was that it was to be at cityhall area. sgt cheong is so irritating. he took photos of haagen daz at esplanade. not the whole thing tho, he took a pillar with a small rock and zoomed it until it looked really big so no one could tell where it was until we do a forfeit to get 2 more photos.
third forfeit was to take photos with 5 strangers. this was quite easy since approaching strangers is kinda like my forte. as some of my friends put it, i am shameless.. so be it then. there was this ang mo guy who thought that we were some kind of prankster and was really offended when we asked to take a phto with him. he took out a phamplet and started shouting NO NO NO and thereby covered his face. then there was another elderly couple who turned us down as well for some dumb reasons. then alex suggested that we should go for some young and pretty girls cuz i am quite handsome so it might be easier. i was actually quite flattered by that comment and decided to give it a try. who knows soon after that, we took a photo with this babe and yea, it was indeed an ego booster. lol
2nd photo was tiles on the floor with a lamp and a small red marking. i was so sure it was at the marina square bridge that connects to citylink but when we got there, i realised that i was wrong. we ended up doing another forfeit, gathering straws and passing rubberband from the first guy to the last. we were given 2 mins to gather the straws. thankfully, i saw my friend working at one of the restaurant just in front of us so i had to bother her to help me. so pai sey cuz firstly, i haven talked to her since i left cjc and secondly, i forgot her name and remembered only after i left that place. next stop, fire station at funan. we walked one big round and realised only at the end that we could walk straight and cut across the field instead of going one round. bleah..
our last picture was some tamil words. fortunately raj was in our team so he read out the words for us and led us through our last checkpt, the war memorial building. due to time constrain, we only got time for our last station, which was to develop 3 of our best photos and returned to the glasshouse for lunch/dinner at fish and co. in total, we spent $25. it was quite worth it la i think.
anyway, went home after that, wanted to rest awhile before taking basic theory. i realised that i didn't bring my key out so i loitered at my block downstairs like some homeless old uncle. slept awhile on a bench, sitting up of course and by the time i woke up, it was time to go for test.
to cut the long story short, i passed and decided to join sean and qingnan at bugis since i can't go home. i watched them play lan till 12 plus am and took a cab back to qingnan's place to stayover. we talked cock and watched one piece till 4am and we got to wake up at 7am to go abck camp while i go home. slept till 12pm today and yup, im done with blogging.
