Saturday, November 26, 2005 my bmt phase will be over in about a weeks time. i recall the first time when i enter army, how i hated certain people. as time goes by, from enemies, we became friends and from friends, we became brothers. it makes a whole lot of difference when we work together, suffer together. all the time we spent as a group, i thank u all!! from waking up early to fall in, fast march from canteen to go toilet after breakfast, chao geng when we get punish during area cleaning, pulling each others' towel after we bathe, running around the 5th storey naked trying to get our towels back, talking cock until 12am almost every alternate night, planning on what competition to play in order to win food over from other sections, doing extra pt as a platoon so that we can be the best in the company etc. my platoon in terms of discipline is the worse, but fitness level the best. it makes perfect sense because our commanders don't really scold us. it won't work even if they do scold us alot. instead, when they don't do that, we become abit siao on. after 16km route march, we went for another short distance. oh, btw that happened yesterday. we march pass 2 companies and as we do that, the commanders from other companies were like : if u all can march like them, i'll be very happy... obviously we felt very garang after that. when we got back to company line, hazwan brought us to the track area and we reflected on the time when we first came in in our FBO and bottles up position. afterwhich, we poured one full bottle on the guy in front of us and reserve the other other for the friend that we like most, which in this case happens to be our commanders. even when we were darn shagged, we chase the commanders in our FBOs to pour water on them. some of us refilled bottles from the watercooler so the water temperature was like awfully low. felt shiok after that. whee... fitness level, i recalled the first time i took my ippt, results were as follow: 2.4km - 11.10 SBJ- 260 pull ups - 8 shuttlerun - 9.0 sit ups - 45 now, its: 2.4km - 9.41 SBJ- 270 pull ups- 15 shuttlerun -9.5 sit ups - 63 looking back at all the crap that i went through, its worth the training!! Jesus is Love Friday, November 11, 2005 i survived the 7 days of hell. actually it wasn't that bad, in fact, i really enjoyed it, if not for the food and toilet problem, which became a big problem by the third day. the trainings held in the forest were not as tough as i thought it would be. the food was worse that i expected, powder bath was kinda new and i sort of got over it after the first day. our officers actually allocate 2 hrs of tekan session everyday. first day was quite okie since we just got there and don't have enough time to do most of the punishments or what they call 'progressive training'. second day, the whole company didn't fall in on time due to the lack of light to prepare our stuff so ya, from 7am to 9am, we were in either push ups, jumping jacks or sit up position. overall, it was still bearable. this went on for the entire day until someone vomitted. we had camou on and off every 1 min interval and after that, our tents (barshas - dunno how to spell) had to be dismantled and set up again in another area within 20 mins. after second day, things went back to normal because all of us woke up at 5am and finished our stuff at 6am which leave us with half an hour to play around with. since there were nothing left for the sergeants to scold us, they just tell us frankly that we have to finish at least 40 pushups before we can have our admin time until training starts. anyway, being garang, we did more than expected as usual and in return, we had more admin time. due to the rain, our admin time got extended so total we had 1 hr break. no one was allowed to go out of the tent so i just laid there and took a short nap. lunch was crappy, i held my breath. dinner was alot better. we had maggi mee. finished 2 packets. the next day, we won some competition so we were allowed to have maggi mee again. too bad we finished it the night before so ya. no choice but to suck thumb and eat the combat rations. i ate like biscuits to sustain my hunger. section training was retarded. we learnt how to use the range card and after that it was talking cock session with Alfred (platoon seageant). that was the first time i talked so much rubbish with him. half an hour later, 2 indians did a Hindi dance with the trees in the forest, it was amusing. we moved to another camp site by day 3. there were alot of giant grasshoppers and centipedes around oumy area. i digged a drainage system and poured some prickly heat powder to ward off the centipedes. at night, one of the commanders tried to steal my rifle. thankfully, i was smart enough to put the rifle strap in between my legs as well as in between the 3rd button of my long 4 so ya, he failed. day 4 was our welfare day. had fresh rations the entire day, got to bathe with water and night walk was cancelled. i got to lead my section during the fire movements as well as crossing of the danger areas. did it nicely and i'm really proud of it. heh. "ICE" "SPIDER""ORANGE""BACK TO TRACK" ..... day 5 was another section training with test. at night, Hazwan took out guitar and gathered all of us. weiyi led most of the songs. he's a really talented singer. can sing those super high pitching song. oh ya, sang bu tong peng you and qing fei de yi. both rocks. day 6 change location again. suppose to dig trench. i was like 3/4 done after 12pm. almost 2 times faster than the rest. at that time, the weather was frigging hot and i used up most of my energy. felt really giddy and got this feeling that i was going to faint. tried to tahan awhile until after lunch. couldn't hold on much longer so i reported sick. temperature was like 1 degree celcius higher than the rest. took tunnel back to see MO. it was pure slacking after that. my fever went down after i took a bath back at company line, then i was like what's there to report when i have no sickness at all. my friends then suggested that i report my old injury, just to cover up cuz i can't come back to company line when i'm not even sick. the stupid doctor gave me an MC which allows me to - not wear shoes - not run, march or jump - not carry heavy load for 7 days. it was so unnecessary. i need only like 3 days. because of this status, i missed out on BIC, which stands for some crawling test that i have to go through today. oh well, its nice to slack and eat good food. i slept like 9.5 hrs yesterday and got time to wash all my clothes, SBO, helmet and all other stuff that i brough fro field camp. while everyone booked out with the gigantic duffer bag, i used my field pack. overall, i think field camp rocks apart from the toilet!! Jesus is Love Friday, November 04, 2005 i've just been reminded to shave off my armpit hair. oh my goodness!! by the way, i'm not, let me repeat myself, im NOT being metro. during the field camp, i will allowed to bathe only like once throughout the week. if i dun shave it off, i reckoned that there will be dirt and all the crap stuck on my body. with hair, it will make it easier for things to get trapped. anyway, the whole platoon will be doing that. not compulsory but rather, essential. spent like half an hour trying to figure out the best way for hair removal. first, it was plucking. the process was slow and painful. after awhile, my armpit got numb so ya. i stopped and moved on to the next one. use the shaver for moustache but i find it rather sick so ya, stopped even before i started shaving. the last idea i got was from the 40 year old virgin that i watched with ivan yesterday. just took a sticky tape and on count of three, ripped the tape off. it was quite a tormenting experience. so now, im sitting in front of the com, barren. haha Jesus is Love Thursday, November 03, 2005 my body clock is super screwed up now. everyday i will wake up at 5am and start to feel sleepy at 930pm. this is really retarded and stupid. i am suppose to chiong during my book out days but some things nv change even when u are free to play. bleah. NS life ain't that bad afterall. in fact, i think its a rather fun place to be in, IF there's more girls and freedom. the people there are quite sociable, just don't like their flowery language that potrays the deep craving for girls in NS. food wise, hmm, first week, it was really nice. subsequently, u realise that the food is always the same. by the third week, we just swallow the food without even having any sense of satisfaction. Ninja company is quite welfare, meaning that we are well taken care of, in terms of admin time (freetime), canteen breaks, tidbits etc. my section mates are as spastic as me, do all sort of stupid things together. when we fall in, some of them can flick my ears or hit my helmet. when we sit down, they can tab u on the shoulders or even throw stones at u. sometimes we even compete to see who can throw the most pebbles into the drain from where we are sitting. after lights out, we took out all our tidbits and started talking crap while eating all those junk food. because of the lack of slp and eating all the junk food at night, we were the first section to be physically unwell. training is okie, i thought it would be much worse since we are suppose to be the second most shiong company. the many hours of admin time made us feel alot better. my fitness level improved by quite abit. didn't really work out my pectorials though. sigh!! oh u know what, i think coughing is a good way of training abs. i got my 7 pacs back after 1 week of coughing. not bad eh. trying to obtain my last pac before i recover from that disgusting tekong cough. tml booking in again. going for field camp, 7 days. its going to be dirty, hot, eating crappy food, sleep in a hole that i have to dig, shit in another hole that i have to dig, shoot the trees with blanks etc. gonna be quite an interesting experience. looking forward to the next time i can have a decent bathe. wahaha Jesus is Love Tuesday, November 01, 2005 oh my goodness!! my entry disappeared after i pressed the 'publish post' button. wasted half an hour of my time. army life is quite fun, the people, the training, getting screwed together, eating junk food at night etc. im quite sian now after my entry disappeared. byebye Jesus is Love |
