heh all in all, today's celebration was perfect! looking back, we were a bunch of strangers, getting together and making things happen. after going through the pag training myself, somehow i realised that all of us share one common thing. ntu union pageant is not about winning, its about having fun together. i'm glad all of us did just that and i am so looking forward to see the next committee being form up. as for myself, i dunno which area i should be involve in, hopefully something minor cuz i wanna ROC.

anyway, feeling kinda stone now. its really early now and its not as though i can't sleep. think this entry is about how i am attracted to the pageant family and what makes it attractive. most might have the misconception that people from pageant are like glamorous and classy, looking at us, i dun think we fit into that category. i dunno bout other pag but ours, we are real towards each other, even when its comments rather than compliments, it doesn't prick our pride or ego at all. though i must admit that all these comments doesn't build us up but at least we had fun in the process of "hurting" each other. being real is what makes a place so enticing. whenever we meet, its those kind of genuine joy and no one bothers bout their image in front of us. i guess i school, sometimes i do dress up abit more to impress (especially this sem). i feel as though there are pple that i need to be wary off and i definitely dun wanna be caught off guard. in pag, seriously, who cares!! a place where i can express myself, a place where i can zi high all i want without being judged upon. most importantly, i place where i know i belong.

thanks for making pageant like a mini family. love u guys too. haha. purple light rocks..

err NUM stuff is really over priced!! i went shopping today and while i was window shopping, i went to check out the stuff that christina was going to buy for me i really got a shocked cuz its like 70 bucks for one singlet that has NUM logo on it with the name of a sport. i mean its really nice and all but 70 bucks? the last time i saw, it was only 50 bucks. an increment of 20 bucks? wow!!

we went to check out this shop that sells shorts above knee and she insisted that i try it on. there was only like medium size so i had to squeeze. it almost burst and i looked like a faggot. thankfully, we were the only ones patronising that shop so ya.

think im losing my muscles and thus i should start working out. AND, its time to start studying before i start failing. thursday going for qing gong yan with the pag pple. so exciting. ciao..

today i just got reminded while watching an anime that u can only be yourself and be willing to be who u are when u are around people that u want to get close with. this semester i tried to dress up more cuz i felt that i should not adapt to the deterioration of dressing from year one onwards. somehow, most people does that because they feel more at home gradually while i on the other hand began to drift away from people i know. this isolation period can clearly be shown by the illustration i mentioned above. subconsciously, when i want to impress, i close up abit more in order to conceal the negative side of me, aka crispy side (cui).

as much as i want to get close to people, i felt that the more i try, the tougher it gets. as i reflect back, i realise that friendship comes naturally if u dun try at all. however, the key thing to make friends is being real and authentic. maybe don't try at all is too extreme, how bout dun try too hard. real friendship comes from acceptance, at least for me. if u can accept me, i dun have to try to impress u, thus i can be real.

i used to expect my closest friends to tell me stuff but actually as time goes by, i got quite bothered by the things that my friend tells me. i became troubled and i don't know if i can handle things anymore. i realise that if u want to tell me something, and u know its not very pleasant and i won't agree with it, then at least show me that u are willing to change before telling me. i don't like the fact that u tell me for the sake of telling me and then refuse to listen to what i got to say and don't want me to say anything because it hurts to know that u are falling and i cannot catch u. don't put me in a situation whereby i can only watch u die in front of me. that's very selfish! okay, i finally let that out. so i just want to apologise for not really talking to u much because i don't know where to start.

    DONE.

pageant 2008 is over and i feel kinda sian because i have no excuse to slack and i must study. this semester's workload is horrendous but timetable is quite slack. i need to motivate myself and push myself to study - ahh the agony!

I WANT TO MEET WITH MY PAG FRIENDS (OLD AND NEW)!!!!!!!!

Make a decision to serve God wholly, putting Him first in everything you do. Living above society’s moral decline involves the choices we make regarding our conversations, the way we dress, what we read, and the TV shows and movies we watch. It also has to do with the level of integrity with which we live our personal lives, interact with other people and conduct ourselves in our businesses or professions.

As Christians, we need to encourage one another to live by godly standards and to resist the pull of the world. We need to hold each other accountable for the words, images and information we allow into our minds.

A well-known quote offers some good advice: “Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

Romans 14: 22 makes very clear that we should not do things we feel guilty about or try to make others live by our convictions: “Your personal convictions [on such matters]—exercise [them] as in God’s presence, keeping them to yourself [striving only to know the truth and obey His will]. Blessed (happy, to be envied) is he who has no reason to judge himself for what he approves [who does not convict himself by what he chooses to do]” (The Amplified Bible).

God is interested in the influences we allow in our lives. In addition to what we see and hear, we need to be very careful about the people with whom we spend our time. The Bible teaches us not to sit passively and inactively in the pathway of sinners, nor to relax and rest in the presence of the scornful and mockers (see Psalm 1:1).

It is easy to dive into a body of water and float downstream with the current, but it is more difficult to swim upstream. It is often easier just to go along with other people and do what the majority of them want to do, but in the long run doing so can cause us significant heartache and misery.

We must set high standards for what we wear, what we watch on TV, what we listen to, how we use our time, whom we associate with, and how we spend our money.

A lifestyle of obedience to God’s Word offers many blessings. If we would commit to higher standards of holiness in our lives, we could eliminate some of the enemy’s ammunition and thwart some of his plans against us. Our lifestyle choices would help form shields around us that Satan could not penetrate. The things we see and hear can be tools the enemy uses to wage war on the battlefields of our minds.

When we see or hear something, it is recorded forever in the subconscious mind. Who do you think is behind ungodly scenes, images and words in so much of today’s music, television, Internet and printed material? It isn’t God; it’s the enemy!

Working through the world’s system, Satan constantly pours out poison, and often we just sit by passively taking in whatever is being offered. We must decide whether we are going to dedicate ourselves to God or serve the world system.

One of God’s great gifts to mankind is the power of choice. If we want to enjoy the blessings He has for us, we need to make lifestyle choices that align with His Word and are consistent with the values of His Word, not choices reflecting the constantly eroding values of the world.

yesterday i made a commitment to God that i wanna follow Him and i want Him to be a big part of my life again, especially when sch starts today. i felt really sucky this few days because my spiritual health had been pretty bad due to all the camps that i'm involved in and especially so when i don't have to take time to prepare for discussion questions for CG. when the time spent with God is compromised, alot of things will change. my bad habits popped out one by one, habits like judging people. i dislike some people from camp, people that i will get irritated whenever i talk to them. it sucks really because whenever i harbor such thoughts, there will be this nagging voice that is reminding me that i'm a christian.

during the sermon today as the speaker was talking about how God can speak to us, at the back of my mind, i remembered what happen during church camp. He reminded me that as long as i have the desire to seek Him, all the limitations that i have will be my strength. there were in total of 2 people who came to me because God told them to, and talked to me about something that i had been asking God for answers a few weeks back. now can u doubt that God is real? through this two people (one of my church peeps whom i had nv talk to b4), i was indeed blessed by God and u know what, He touched me twice during the camp, once a day. for the benefit of non christians, let me touch on this abit more k? by saying that we got touched by God, its the same as encountering God. He specifically embraces u and make it known to u. the love that He pours unto u is so overwhelming that u will start sobbing uncontrollably. u will feel very helpless but u know that God is there to cover all things for u. different people might have different feelings but that was how i felt. u see, i'm a very physical person, as in my primary love language is physical touch, thus the best way by showing me that u care is perhaps like giving me a hug (for guys, girls too if u dun mind), or a pat on my shoulder gently.

u might be surprise to hear this, more than 90% of my church leaders from youth group consider physical touch to be their primary love language apart from physical touch. i guess perhaps thats y im so incline to my church friends. all the guys tao poking each other, gheying with one another, pillow fights once a year during church camp etc. it sounded as though im defending and justifying my own actions but i assure u that i'm not and i don't have to. heh

starting from today, school officially started at 12am. i thought it would be cool to start off the semester with God so i organised a prayer meeting in hall. was really glad that i wasn't the only one there, there were 4 of us and i'm sure there'll be more. we commit ourselves to meet every thursday at 11pm so i really pray that God will do something with us. my fellow christian bros and sis, do pray alongside with me because i really want to see a revival in my school and i know God wants that too. before i came to NTU, i had a vision from God. i saw around 50-100 people gathering at one spot with me on stage, sharing with them the gospel. during entrepreneurship class, the lecturer emphasized the importance of our dreams. i believe if i continue to have the desire to seek God and to share my faith with my friends, 50-100 people will be too little for me to handle. at this point of time, i want to see more people saved.

ignite conference happened like a few months back, i wonder how are the rest of the christians doing in their schools. i continue to believe that God will raise up a new generation to do His work and i want to be part of that generation. i want to make a difference for God. i want to be a good testimony for Christ and that includes being attentive in class so i shall end off here to get some well deserved rest.

and yes, sarah is involve in a pageant and i'm part of the organising committee. do show your support by smsing me ur interest to purchase a ticket to watch the performance at ST JAMES POWERHOUSE on the 16th AUG, 6.30pm. its only $12 and u stand a chance to win fabulous prizes such as vagary watches from the lucky draw. do contact me ya!!
