Wednesday, January 23, 2008 have been really busy with cheerleading, 4 to 5 times a week from 8pm to 3am, sometimes 4am. by the time i finish bathing and spending time with God, its already like 5am. thus, i skipped most of my 8.30am lectures, its pointless to attend anyway. i mean how can i expect myself to stay awake when even if i have like a normal 7 hrs of sleep, i can still doze off in class. so that happens to be in my head everytime i felt guilty of skipping lessons. thus, my studies had been really bad, my knowledge of most subjects are still like 50% behind time. haven't done any tutorials except maths and abit of physics. ignite had been a pretty decent conference. i won't say its fantastic though, perhaps its not suited for people around my age. but, i must admit that i've gained something from it and i suppose its worth the money. 3 things that i disagree about that conference. firstly, during worship, i dunno how charismatic churches work but i prefer spending time medicating or rather enjoying God's presense rather than raising up my hands and shouting like woooooooooo!! was quite irritated, then again i reaslised that all of us worship differently. secondly, testimonies are for giving God the glory and encouraging fellow christians by telling people what did god do. therefore, shouldn't phrases like i thank god for something come out at least once? one of the girls were sharing bout how much they learnt after pastor joakim preached and how effective their ministry in school were. then, she ended the testimony by thanking joakim and her pastors. so who is doing the work in her school? lastly, i do admit that i was pretty irritated by those people who sat in front and goes WOW, YES, WOW again at anything. there was this picture about a white guy on a bus with a black lady and when pastor joakim asked how do we find the picture, they went WOW. then i was like WOW what? there's nothing to WOW about and if u genuinely mean it, then i'm fine with it. please don't do things for the sake of doing, its dumb. there are things that i like about the church as well. firstly, worship. kind of ironic but without the instructions given by the worship leader to raise up our hands and keep on yelling, i enjoyed the loud music and the high energy level of the crowd. then, it was the annoucements. i thought they would preach about how is it that will benifit us if we give generously but they didn't. i dunno how else to ask pple to give more but i prefer to see it as a challenge as to how much we are willing to give to God or how much are we taking from God for the things he give us rather than how much can god bless us if we give. pastor joakim is really gifted. i must admit that i do feel super encouraged to share the gospel but there was more to it. before i went for the conference, i was actually asking god like since i can do art and craft quite well, how can i use it to serve. so then, during the talk, it was like an answered prayer. before closing, we prayed, ALOT. i never felt the need to pray like so much before. i wanted to go on and on and ask god to save my friends. i felt that as i pray, i'm more prepared to go forth to share the gospel, like i was 100% sure that god will save them. finally, it was the closing song. eventhough it was repetative, God touched me. u know i felt really weird cuz during tm camp last year, i was hoping for God to do that but i didn't. then when i really dun wanna cry cuz its like i'm surrounded by alot of people i dunno and the fact that i dun think anyone would cry cuz its nothing special, i did anyway. it was awesome and i was totally refreshed after that. in fact, i felt clean, from sin and like i was a new new creation eventho i was baptised already. heh. so then, let me share with u about what i'm going to do in school. firstly, i was advised to target one person and ask everyone to pray for that one person and the only name and face that came into my friend was my chem classmate Christina. so, if its possible, anyone who reads this blog can pray alongside me for her. i will update u when she's save. yeah!! the next big thing i suppose will be valentine's day. i will be getting quite alot of things from all over to give pple. its gonna cost alot but i'm saving money for it now. what i'm doing is more like seed planting. let it grow by itself and when it matures, who knows what God can do but one things for sure, it'll be perfect!so i guess this will be the two things i'll be focusing on for my campus ministry. studies had been really exciting with God's help. i tried to pray everytime i am not engaging in anything. it helps me to focus and concentrate and the best thing is that i can understand what the lecturer is teaching in class. hallelujah! the boys in my cg are coming out this fri, that is like 2 days from now, except for daniel on thursday. yeah. can't wait to hear from them! Jesus is Love Wednesday, January 09, 2008 just sent off julius and d loke today, and derric, yesterday. kind of miss them already. i guess its a result of spending so much time with my cg recently. even before our genting trip till now, we somewhat see each other everyday, if not only one day apart. well, dec holidays are over now and i guess it was well spent. i'm still having holiday mood eventhough semester started this week. the lectures on monday were quite a waste of time, tuesday and wed got no lessons and now i need to go back hall for photo taking and cheer practise. competitions will be on the 23rd of jan, after which, no more training for cheer. then, it'll be hip hop dance competition which ends around mid feb. hopefully by the end of all this crap, i can concentrate on my studies. gotta mug really hard now if i want to send the rest of the guys from my cg off to tekong or wherever in the next intake. i borrowed sarah chan's piano grade 1 book to learn piano from scratch. hopefully by the end of the year, i can at least side read grade 3 stuff with ease. wish me luck.
