Wednesday, April 23, 2008 was doing my reflection and i realised that something really cool happened after the planet shakers concert. halfway through the concert, we were invited to sit down while the usual tithing procedure took place. having a pastor giving a verse and asking us to give our all to God and then he will bless u. i obviously hear it a dozen times and naturally, eventhough i didn't say it out, i started to compare the pastor with previous ones that i've heard. anyway, the bottomline was that i felt God nudging me to give but i was like "God im left with 10 dollars and if i give it away i got no money for supper later as well as tomorrow's breakfast." after that, i couldn't really feel God's presense and somehow i felt abit remourseful for doubting God's ability. the journey back from expo back to hall was disgustingly long. we were all famished and was looking forward to having our supper at city harvest church, boon lay branch area. to cut the long story short, lejia decided to not go since she suspected that there wasn't any vegetarian stall (and yes she's a vegetarian). thus, we decided to just grab something from the pasar malam. i bought 1 chicken wing and 3 curry puffs. it obviously wasn't enough but ya, decided not to spend too much there. wanteng and ivan went to get rambly burgers and after which, she told me that sebastian's mum worked there too, one of the food stall. so being polite, she decided to say hi to her and guess what, since she was closing already, she gave us 2 bags of tapioca cake and pau. so much that i had to share with my hall mates just to finish it but obviously we still couldn't. looking back, i realised that God had a plan in mind and was just testing my faith in Him. it is said in the bible, look at the birds in the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, yet the heavenly father feeds them. are u not more valuable than they? matt 6:25-26 sometimes its hard to listen or to discern whether is it god's voice but if its something good or if its for God, i suppose we should just go ahead because God loves the reckless who do things selflessly for Him. somewhat like a childlike faith. and yes, i just realised how much i love kids. heh. can't wait to have my own!!! Jesus is Love Tuesday, April 22, 2008 The following is from a lady in Oregon. It is priceless! The Bible explained by kids - truth has been redefined. > 1> In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, 'The Lord thy God is one,' but I think He must be a lot older than that. Anyway, God said, 'Give me a light!' and someone did (haha). Then God made the world. He split the Adam and made Eve. > > 2> Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren't embarrassed because mirrors hadn't been invented yet (thats pretty creative for them to say that eh?). Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden. Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn't have cars. (lameness is genetically transferred. tsk) 3> Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel (hah notice the pun!). Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something. One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a ham (Noah's son- Ham shem and japheth). Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check. > 4> After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast. Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat. > 5> Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Heston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh's people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable. God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then He gave them His top ten commandments. These include don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's bottom (the Bible uses a bad word for bottom that I'm not supposed to say (ass). But my Dad uses it sometimes when he talks about the President). Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother. (lol) 6> One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua, who was the first Bible guy to use spies. Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town. After Joshua came David. He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me. > > 7> After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets One of these was> Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed up on the shore. There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them. > 8> After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of the New Testament. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn. (I wish I had been born in a barn, too, because my mom is always saying to me, "Close the door! Were you born in a barn?" It would be nice to say, "As a matter of fact, I was. > > 9> During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisee sand the Republicans. Jesus also had twelve opossums. The worst one was Judas Asparagus. Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him. (whahahahah) > 10> Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards (a vet? heh) and even preached to some Germans on the Mount (sermons on the mount.. omg!!) . But the Republicans and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus. He just washed his hands instead. > 11> Anyway, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again. He went up to Heaven, but will be back at the end of the Aluminum. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution.
