Tuesday, October 24, 2006 and so my kelong trip was cancelled due to some unforseen circumstances. i felt rather crappy but oh well, life goes on. my battalion dinner at yan's place was really something! i am not talking about the food, but rather, the programmes were really well-planned. i was quite impressed with the flow of the whole thing. anyway, we were somewhat told to dress up in ethnics costumes but no one bothered too. just to be on the safe side, i got raj to get me an indian costume. it remained on my lap throughout the whole event and when it was all over, those who wore that costumes went to take photos and that was when OC decided to give them 1/2 day off. then i was like what the lame crap is this man. i could have like embarass myself for that few hours to earn that stupid day off. tcc2 was the biggest group there and thus we kinda have advantage when comes to cheering and participation points. during the idol competition, all of us went forward and knelt in front of the stage with our hands swaying up high in the air, supporting our representative to take part in the competition. i must say that wende sings really well that day. could see that he was trembling but tried to cover it up by tapping his feet. nice try!! then, it was yammm sennnng. a routine that we have to go through every big events held in a restaurant. first it was CCC and then TCC1. TCC2 obviously didn't want to lose out thus we decided to do that too. it took us great effort to gather all of our gang to come together. after us, there were silence for quite long before any group dare to take on our challenge. even when some groups tried to outdo us, they failed. there was another dance competition and this time round, 2 guys went up to dance. one of my guys then took out with outer shirt and started swinging it around. it was quite an ugly sight but that gave us first price i think. i can't think of any other possibilities that got us that far. after everything ended, i hitched a ride from one of my man again who happens to be my neighbor and that rocks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- yesterday went to sentosa with my army friends, namely all the 30/34 specs. u know this outing made me feel as though our friendships are not just some convenient friendship that people forget very easily. i went there early by half an hour cuz my dad got to rush off somewhere to meet my auntie and uncle from malaysia. then, i took this opportunity to continue exploring vivo city by myself. most of the shops were not to my liking and i ended up at toy'r'us for the longest period of time. i checked out the toilets which was rather lousy compared to the design of the shopping complex. i expected it to be more high class that what it turned out to be like. bleah one by one, my friends went to toy'r'us to find me and it turned out that everyone was late and by the time we reached sentosa, it was almost noon. so in other words, we were like behind schedule for 2 hrs. the beach were quite empty, it was good for me cuz i hate crowds but as for my friends, they were kinda disappointed. no crowds, no girls.. we played frisbee and beach volleyball for a short while cuz the ball is really hard and the sand is too hot. we took alot of retarded photos and like 5 hrs under the sun, we decided to go home. went to the toilet to bathe and saw this guy with alot of tatoos on his body bathing his dog and drying it under the hand dryer. poor thing. the dog was like under the dryer for around 10 mins. i was quite amused by the owner. anyway, i am going to be late for kite flying. beh Jesus is Love Saturday, October 07, 2006 been spending alot of time at the arcade. i think i am becoming more like an ah beng, spending money on mindless stuff, wasting time on places like this. ah beng, in modern days, wears clothes like shirts with jeans, not tucked in and go along with slippers. we can easily identify them by the way they speak, eventhough there are a minority that can speak proper english. even if they can, it is often accompanied by all the $%#^%*$%&.. the society often regard them as the social scumbags but i don't think its quite far to judge them so harshly and yes, especially christians who are suppose to be intoxicated with the love of God. love, is a powerful to transform someone. love, is the essense of God and love is itself, part of God. it is right to say that God is love, as what it is mentioned in the bible. we are taught to love our neighbour but who do we consider our neighbour? i suppose it can be anyone, in fact everyone around us is a neighbour. naturally, humans are attracted to nice looking chaps and don't mind making frineds with them, but how bout those that are dirty and poor and sick or something along that line? can we still befriend them, or wait for others to have the honor of displaying the sacrificial love we were taught to give? it is written that whatever small things we do for His people, we do it for Him. how many of us can actually see Jesus in strangers like them? during discussion with my cell group today, we somewhat concluded that our relationship were kinda superficial. to a certain extend, i do agree with that statement. the good thing is this. if people dare to share, they care. its as simple as that. if everyone decided to take the first step to try to get to know one another, the dynamics of that cell will definitely grow. i look forward to the 40 days of community and i know that if we were to feed on God's word and live it out, our cg will be transformed! the sermon itself made me really think about the past and present friendships that i have with people. if they were to displace me to somewhere else, where i lost contact with everyone, will people be bothered to contact me or couldn't care less? who are the people that i am having a relationship with out of convenience? the answer to all this questions can be very sad. i suppose a majority of my friends are just passerby friendships which like what mich always tell me, come and go. to my friends out there, especially those in church, i treasure u, alot!! ivan, i have yet to receive an email from u so far. hope to catch up with u real soon and please try to come back for chinese new year or at least church camp ya. i'll be ur bunk mate. :) ~~ORD lo. actually, come to think of it, i don't wanna ord so soon. as in i am seriously enjoying every part of my NS life so far. the people, the stuff that we do together. it rocks. how can someone detest such a simple lifestyle for 2 years. everyday u wake up, there's people around u to play with, to talk to. homework and exam doesn't exist, stress is something that we can cast it aside cuz we usually take our time to do our work. eventhough the food sucks, we get to order in from wherever cuz our bosses own cars. we read the newspapers and every single article in the company and watch all the latest movies together at the mess cuz we have too much time. y should u complain if u are leading this kinda life? i love all my man and my fellow specialists. we don't backstab cuz there's no need to do that, unlike the officers. we fool around, get screwed and punished together. we eat together, bathe together, sleep together. by spending time together, i really hope that it won't be just for convenience sake. as in after 2 yrs in the army, i want to bring along all the friendships that were formed. memories aren't enough. imagine after u ORD, no one bothers to sms u or ask u out anymore. that's the sadest thing ever and i don't think i will allow such things from happening. anyway, i really think that i am a social creature eventhough there are times when i don't like to talk to people and rather stay in solitude. i like to mingle in small groups and tend to shun away from big crowds. i like to have in depth relationship rather than remaining as hi-bye friends. in fact, i don't regard hi-bye friends as friends at all. it is the same as a stranger. i love my friends and sometimes i need to receive a certain amount of love in return. its hard to give without receiving but i suppose that's something that i have to learn. yup, guess its time to sleep now and once again, i love u my friends!!! Jesus is Love Sunday, October 01, 2006 i like to slack on sunday, it's nice. somehow i don't get to sleep much on saturday cuz of some crappy reason like watching anime. anyway, i really hope i am not idolising that. erm, there's quite alot of things to type but i am too lazy to.. anyway, i downloaded alot of crappy stuff and played dota at the same time. this resulted in a super laggy com and then, it happened. my com shut down by itself and unable to start for like 2 hrs. thank goodness its fixed already. not that i do anything to it. its like a MIRACLE.. woot!! was talking to chris last week, whether he's free to go out on deepavali since its been like almost half a year since the last time we had a stayover or just going out. then he was like suggesting to go kelong. and so, it has been decided that we will be spending 2 days one night in malaysia, getting out of singapore, leaving all our work behind and just slack at some ulu island. i'm glad we didn't face any parental objection. heh.. i am dang excited now but i know before u even know it, the trip will be over and it'll be like another few months before we get to go out together again. 10mths to ORD.. heh i started to regret choosing my course in NTU cuz its quite a difficult subject. somehow or rather, i'm losing confidence in myself. kinda pathetic huh.. how i wish i could go back to sec school whereby studying is still kinda enjoyable. just have to mug the tys instead of doing research. i suppose i should start studying abit first. eh, but then again, i better not if not some people will think i'm too kiasu. goodnight people, have to book in soon!!
