yesterday just shared with my cell group that i intended to bring my grandma and my mum to church next sunday and today, my grandma left us. it was very sudden yet at the same time when i read the bible on the car while going to hospital, God sort of hinted me that my grandma will be rested. it didn't struck me at first, only after it happened.
at the hospital, my grandma was lying on the bed, her eyes were opened but she couldn't recognise anyone. according to my mum, grandma had insufficient blood and the docs couldn't inject more blood for her because her artilleries were all clogged up. i went for breakfast after standing there for an hour then when i was back, my mum told me to say goodbye to my grandma. her fingers were attached to this machine which will beep according to the rate of my grandma's heartbeat. it was normal when i went there and after like ten minutes, the heart rate dropped till it stopped. all of us took turns to give our grandma one last hug before her heart stopped beating.
i recalled the last time i went thru a scenario like this was at my grandfather's wake. that was abit better tho because i wasn't that close to him. and when i went there, he was already gone but this time, i watched her left me. just last week, we still had like dinner together and now, i can only do that at the wake.
the scenes of us going for dinner, her childhood stories, her laughter kept on flashing past. i stood there helpless and not knowing what to do. if i could turn back time, if i could shared christ with her. my only comfort is that she waited for everyone to be there before leaving us, that was also after she had prepared us for the worst. she left us in a painless manner.
