this sucks cuz yesterday i finished updating like two days worth of journal and i thought i could use the save as draft function for the first time. yet all i got was a pure disappointment. this holiday had been great, both spiritually and physically, not so much in terms of how much i spent though. been going out so much, been drawing money so many times.

friday 29th dec
my nephew came over at 1am and stayed till 5 plus so i only got to sleep for like a few hours before i had to get up and prepare to go for leaders' retreat at east coast park. i took every opportunity to sleep when its possible like for example travelling, lunch, rest etc. all these little naps that i took sort of got me energised throughout the day, eventhough i appeared to be kind of lazy and such but i suppose its better than not participating in anything at all.

once we touch down, we rented blades at the first shop, just before the macdonalds after doing some recce and research on the rental prices along the stretch of shops. ian was our front scout since he was the only one with blades. the twins and eliel had their first blading experience then. eliel was not bad for a first timer. everything was kinda normal until avelyn fell. the twins fell alot of times too but i suppose they know how to breakfall. avelyn on the other hand had some back problems so once she fell, she got quite badly injured.

we had to carry her via the two man lift method all the way to the nearby clinic. thankfully there was this nice uncle who lent us his bicycle after edmund asked for help. the nurses at the clinic got us confused cuz firstly they told us to call an ambulance, then they cancelled it because there was this regulations about having the clinic to treat u if u are there and u can't just call the hospital when u are already in the clinic. then, they realised that they do not have the x-ray so they summoned the ambulance again.

the medics came with this awesome stretcher. as i wheelchaired avelyn, they didn't even look at us cuz in the first place, avelyn's injury wasn't that serious, which is a good thing i suppose. only one person can go with avelyn to the hospital so we sort of voted grace to go since its best for a girl to go with a girl.

played abit of captain's ball after lunch. i wanted to rest abit more but i realised that it was quite lame for me to just sleep while everyone's out there playing. therefore, i joined them halfway through when deb sprained her ankle.

it was back to church after that. we had lessons then at night during dinner, was talking to liz regarding our cg and we sort of came up with a proposal together and decided to combine our cg outings together. we made quite a few changes and hopefully our cg will become more active.

just before we went to sleep, the guys played polar bear and before we played polar bear, we played seth. he was badly brutilised by his peers (the sec 4s) plus james ji. after that, he was somewhat nip-less.

sat 30th dec
tm was great that day. i confessed that i doze off a few times but at least i know what is going on since we did the same thing for leaders' retreat. due to the fact that the discussion for that day was goal setting and since the entire j2s had the same goals, we combined cg time. the entire room was so full, so full of life. i'm glad that everyone enjoyed themselves and i thought that it was really cool to start a new year with such vibrancy.

after tm, we waited for quite long before the food was ready but it was worth it! i took like 3 servings before rushing down to darren's birthday party at settler's cafe. played some crappy boardgames and talked to manto and sharon bout my spiritual walk and my cg. i had pretty decent advises and i'm glad that i finally got to catch up with my mentor after so long ever since i left poly.

sun 31st dec
got to wake up early again for sunday service, i'm glad that things turned out different from i ahve expected. saturday was a day of renewal and for sunday, i was enjoying moments with god. the worship songs that day wasn't fantastic, but it was meaningful, to me at least.

after service, james invited me to go escape with the sec 4s. then i realised that i could do the same thing with my cg, thus i went with them, to recce the place and stuff like that. the weather that day was fantastic. very cloudy, but no sign of rain. we went to the food court for lunch and since a group of them have yet to finish their food, i went down to swensons with james and jeremy to get cake for kris. it was quite a last minute decision and i thought it was only appropriate to do so since people had to leave early and it wasn't right to spend the voucher when everyone's not there so ya.

at the shop, jeremy insisted on getting the chocolate banana but i ended up paying for it cuz i didn't get anything for kris. we asked the guys from swenson to cut the cake for us cuz its ice cream cake and no way we could use fork and spoon from the food court to eat. i got 3 plastic cups to put dry ice with water to create the misty ambience. it went quite well, then i dunno y the mist diminished. tim tried to remedy the problem by pouring ice with some pruple drink, it didn;t work and in fact, it made it worse. anyway, kris liked it and thats what it matters ya. we tried not to suan her that day cuz its special for her so ya.

at escape, i wasn't expecting a crowd at all cuz its suppose to be pretty boring. got to wait for like 20mins for every ride. we went for most of the rides except for 2.

after escape, all the girls and some guys left. as for the rest of us, we took a 15 mins walk to pasir ris park to chill out before we go for dinner.

the park was quite packed, littered with alot of small kids. we wanted to slack on the big web but it was far too crowded. left our bags beside a tree and played cards there while waiting for the place to clear up. after playing a few rounds of bridge, clement suddenly had this urge to climb so we jut left the cards there and started climbing. i suggested to play catching but end up getting voted to be the catcher. actually catcher wasn't that bad but it was too tiring. i got 2 blisters as a result of slipping. thus, i requested for a partner and they gave me amiel. well, he wasn't of much help but yea, it was exciting for awhile. there was a group of girls on the web too, making alot of noise and telling us not to swing to much and not to occupy the web so they can go to the top. it was retarded la, i think that was the first time they got ignored for so long.

we left not long after that for dinner. james liew and jkwok went to the toilet when the bus came. we didn't wait for them cuz the next bus will be there 15mins later. to our surprise, both of them ran to the next bus stop and managed to board on the same bus as us. impressive..

we ate at macs and i had to rush home to change after that. invited qingnan down to go clubbing with me since he got no programs on and ivena brought a friend too. we reached vivo city at 11.15pm. by the time we reached st james power house, it was like 11.50pm already. had our countdown outside the club, while queuing to enter. brea contacted his friends to help us cut queue. his friends were all girls, 3 in total. they behaved like those typical clubbers, partially drunk and wore lots of make up. throughout the wait, they could actually entertained themselves by taking shots of themselves and laughing about it with everyone staring at them. i do admit that they look quite hot but the way they behave, its quite a turnoff for me and my friend. the club was too crowded in my point of view. it took me awhile before i got accustomed to all the squeezing and smoking. my friend however was at ease once we got in. afterall, he's a frequent clubber.

i didn't know what drinks to choose so i told him to get anything for me and he told the bartender the same thing. we ended up with volka lime, volka pineapple and coke?? it was darn stupid la, i mean who would have expected to get like a non-alcoholic drink. even if i was to say anything, its quite obvious that it would be at the very least alcoholic right??

we danced all the way till like 4am, before the r & b room closed. QN commented on alot of things about some stuff and i realised that he's actually incredulously frank and honest. i suppose that 's what u expect from your good friends right? somebody who dare to share with u anything and everything, not scared of being offensive cuz its for your own good. anyway, he saved me quite alot of times from cars moving straight at me, or rather me moving straight into the car. don't be mistaken, i wasn't drunk, just tired. in fact, i drank only like 1.5 cup of volka and that was it.

this was my first time dancing until so late and so wild. it was really fun tho, not caring about my image and just having fun. don't think i'll do that any time soon, before it becomes a lifestyle.

monday 1st jan
woke up at 11.30am just to go for cg outing at pasir ris. everyone except for dloke was late. we went to get food for the cg first, in case we got too hungry at escape. at the entrance, we saw a crowd that we didn't expect and was on the verge of switching to plan B which had to be discussed later on if there plan A didn't work out. fortunately, we were too lazy to go anywhere else so we proceed on.
