i actually travelled all the way to singapore safety drivingh center to enrol for my basic theory test. i must really emphasize the fact that i went there alone and got to walk quite abit before i reached there.
so, at the entrance, i was warmly welcomed by the wriggled looking security guard in slippers. he simply glared at me when i asked for directions before he shot back a reply. the receptionist was exceptionally busy and was on the phone for more than 5 mins with some uncle, helping his daughter to make some enquiries. then came 2 ladies who joined the queue. when the receptionist put down the phone, instead of attending to me first, since i was like here since the beginning of time, she gave the queue numbers to both of them and asked me to wait while she continued to talk to another client on the phone.
thankfully, there was another receptionist who came to my rescue. when i told her what i wanted, i got a queue number immediately. somehow i reckoned that the first receptionist must have had some bad experiences with guys to treat me with such contempt. bleah
when it was my turn, at counter 3, the lady asked for my 11b and then i was like SHUCKS!! my 11b was in my another bag and so i took out my ez link card as an alternative but got turned down almost instantly. to recover some pride, i asked some questions that i already have the answer to just to drag on abit, so as to prevent anyone from realising my incomprehensible forgetfulness.
i spent like 20 mins there before i got out and decided to proceed to the apple customers' service center to fix my ipod shuffle. the people there were as it was rumored, nice and friendly. they wore a smile constantly and make sure that u get what u wanted in the shortest time possible. and then at a corner, i noticed the security guard sitting down, staring aimlessly at the wall in front of him, and then i wonder: what is his job as a security guard? what if there's a robbery or the fire alarm went off? will he be able to know what to do and be able to do it in time? or will he continue to sit there and attain enlightenment from the wall which seemed to spell a thousand words.
grandma was discharged yesterday. for those who prayed for her during her stay in the hospital, i thank u from the bottom of my heart, especially auntie gracie who constantly asked about her, and prayed for her. right now, everyone's still worried bout her condition cuz it might happen again. all our overseas trips were cancelled cuz no one dared to travel in case something happen.
anyway, will be leaving this sunday at 1145. i will be there by 0945. this will be like super long before i can come back and enjoy the hokkien mee or char kuey teow or perhaps as simple as edible food that are not meant to be stored for years. i dare not imagine 1 week without fresh ration let alone 2 weeks. goodbye muscle mass and hello skinny boy. will be coming up with my schedule when i get back, make sure i have buffet every single day until i regain my normal size.
eh, don't bother to send me cuz i won't be gone for a long time and seriously, i know i will miss home more if u all come to the airport. sigh! this sucks cuz im not going there for a holiday but at least i get to travel.. the irony
