oh well, this is like the end of my 6 days (including weekends) of holiday. it feels weird to be out in town on a weekday, anyway, it's great to be free of the army for so long - can't wait to ORD!! was looking through some photos just now since i had nothing to do at home and wanted to spend some time reflecting on the past few months/years.
from the photos, i realised that there's alot of changes in faces of people from tm, most grew up to be leaders and for a minority, they left church for somewhere else. friendships made and friendships lost, all part of life. its not exactly a bad thing but i won't say its good too. somehow or rather, i suppose friends that are worth keeping are those that no matter what happens, we'll always be close. effort i must say, is a very important criteria to maintain a certain level of closeness. time is a factor that can't do without in a healthy friendship.
there's always this trend. sec 3 to sec 4 can still be quite close, after like jc 1 and 2, people start to drift away from tm. somehow not that engaged in their activities, too busy even to attend. projects and studies became their first priority. when people stop coming for a long time, its hard for them to come back because there will be a sense of awkwardness, as though this was thier first time in church. perhaps a few familiar faces but there won't be this family feeling anymore. its gonna cost u alot of time to get back the family kinda feeling.
church i suppose, like what people suggest, is not an organisation, its a home to all of us - not a hotel where people simply come and go. we grow up there, we learn to love, learn to care. we make friends, we know God. however, sometimes people attend church so much that they lost track of their purpose, their focus on God. it became a routine, something that u just have to go through in order to feel that u are on the right path. i call this group of people the lost sheep. they continue to join the crowd because they are still white, dunno wherelse to go. this group of people lost their identity. since a majority of us are still sane, we should open our eyes and look out for people such as thee. God's love is not exclusive to u only, personal but not private. tm412 has alot of small cliques, a culture that only those with it can fit in. i dun really know how to explain it if u realy think about it, most probably u can figure it out.
tm412 is somewhat growing in terms of numbers, it is time for us to really think of our next step which is discipleship. last time its quite easy to know like everyone in church cuz there's only like so much to remember but now, more and more kids are running around. for me, i think i know only from the sec 3 onwards. younger than that, i don't think i can even name 5 people. have u heard of a family who doesn't know the names of his/her members? well, we should do something...
